TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) – Dinosaurs roamed the desert long before humans settled here. Flandrau Science Center has a new exhibit exploring this past, and this new exhibit has dinosaur bones found near Tucson on display. “Fossil Corner” shows what life looked like on Earth and in Arizona millions of years ago. There is Paleo Reef display, along with huge dinosaur bones found near Tucson, plus other fossils showing long-extinct animals like the saber-tooted cat. Families can also play an interactive game that shows players ‘how to become a fossil’. Shipherd Reed, Marketing and Communications Manager at Flandrau, writes “fossils give physical shape to the many different forms of life that came before us. They enable us to travel back in time and fill us with awe for the natural history of the planet. And they also give us a unique window into the process of evolution, from single-celled organisms in the Earth’s primordial oceans to the complex forms of life we see today.”Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium is located on the University of Arizona campus and is open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, Fridays 9 AM to 10 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday from noon to 5 PM. Admission is $ 7 for adults or $ 5 for children, seniors, military, and college students. Children 3 and under are admitted free. Fossil Corner is free with paid admission, but planetarium and laser light show admission is extra.
